Only now I got to the posting and this is a post with the box unchecked, so of course I got two notification, probably only after this will see the result of your patch.

As I can't be sure which notification is caused by which setting I will use the subject:
- the notification for "new comment for your post" gives me a good URL, to the respective comment: http://inkscapegallery.net/en/node/142#comment-34
- the notification for "your content [...] has been commented" gives the URL for the root of comments http://inkscapegallery.net/node/142 leaving for me to identify the comment (based on the NEW label you are displaying)

nicu i applied the patch to the code, i tested just one time and it seems to work.

Yes, i guessed the url the system generated wasn't right, you may try now. It should take you to the main node page, where you find all the comments listed, now.
the other issue is quite more vomplicated, we need to patch the code of a module and i will test it on test.inkscapegallery.
But there's something we can do right now: you don't need to check the box for the following up comments when you are the page "owner", the one who created that post in other words, cause you're supposed to receive notifications anyhow.

I don't know if this fixes the problem in the case you are the poster but certainly it won't work if you simply added a comment to an existing post.

Ok, and if you want more enhancement requests, it would be nice if the system will not send notification with my own comments, I already know I posted them (and because I checked "Notify me", I get two mails for each comment: one probably because is a comment to one of my submissions and another because the box checked)

I noticed some other improvements, like the avatars and I already uploaded an avatar for me

However, I already spotted a bug in the notification, for your comment I received this reply URL http://inkscapegallery.net/en/comment/reply/142/27 which is not correct, it does not shou your comment to which I am replying to, but a reply to a previous comment in the thread - it should be /28 instead of /27

Thanks Nicu, i wanted to ask you feedback also about many other changes i've made in the last days...
I really think that we have something valuable now and i wish the inkscape user's community to use it and to make it its own reference point and to lead inkscape gallery in the future.

i'm davide from inkscape gallery. I didn't forget what you told me when you suggested me to notify the poster of a new comment with an email.
So, i did it and i hope it's working fine, 'cause it is already in production, but we didn't test it as much as we needed to.
So, i'm asking you to answer me just to confirm that this feature is working but to bring you back to inkscape gallery too!
